LIGHTROOM WORK SLOW (2.0)

I love the additional functionality in Lightroom 2.0. The gradient tool alone is worth the price of the upgrade. And the planned interface with Photoshop should make my workflow much easier. You can send 2 files to Photoshop as layers in one document. You can send multiple files to Photo Merge or High Dynamic Resolution. Cool stuff.

But there are a couple of serious bugs in this software that are making my workflow a work slow…

The first problem was that you couldn’t send a file to Photoshop. It would open Photoshop and no file would open. Then I’d get an error message that Photoshop couldn’t be opened. Reading up on the forums, I found that applying patch 10.0.1 to Photoshop would fix this problem. I applied the patch and now Lightroom plays nice with Photoshop.

The second problem hasn’t been resolved yet. You’re supposed to be able to Export photos out of Lightroom. And with the use of Plug In’s you’re supposed to be able to send your exported JPEG’s directly to Flickr or Smugmug. But now when I click on export in Lightroom… the system freezes up. Nothing. I have to go to Task manager to kill the app. I’ve found a work around. The “export as full size JPEG” works. So I use this function, and then move the files manually to where they need to go.

I’m hoping that this 2nd problem gets fixed soon. I’ll let you know what I find out.
